New book on Business Analysis
Co-edited by Assist director, Debra Paul, this book was published by the British Computer Society in June 2006.

interested in improving the effectiveness of IT and its alignment with organisations' business objectives.
It includes chapters by Assist trainers James Cadle and Malcolm Eva.
Project Management for Information Systems
The fifth edition of the best-selling book by AssistKD
director James Cadle and Donald Yeates, published by FT Prentice Hall on 15th November
2007.
Updated in many areas, including coverage of different types of IS project and new
approaches to development, such as Agile, the structure of the book has also been reorganised,
to group the various 'themes' of project management together.
Introducing Systems Development
Steve Skidmore has teamed up with Malcolm Eva to produce a successor to his
best selling Introducing Systems Analysis and Introducing Systems Design.
Key points in Introducing Systems Development are:
- A focus on the Unified Modeling Language (UML) models, techniques and vocabulary. Some structured
and traditional tecniques are retained as part of the analyst's toolkit.
- A recognition of the role of quality assurance and testing in the systems development process
- A recognition that many organisations now fulfil their information system requirements
through purchasing software packages.The book looks at the advantages and disadvantages
of this approach and presents a method for selecting between competing solutions.
