At this stage, the business analyst's focus becomes broader and they are involved in improving the business processes to enhance the operation of the organisation. The professional skills required include: stakeholder management, gap analysis, business process modelling and the ability to put together a robust and persuasive business case for action.

The personal skills include influencing and persuasion, facilitation, creative thinking and conflict management. Business analysts will also be expected to deliver effective presentations.

The business skills required at this stage include a good understanding of organisations and business sectors, business finance and the legal framework for the application of information technology.
